Default Why do I keep dieing?

I've got a lvl 8 Elementalist/Necromancer but I can't understand how your ment go certain places because of the amount of mobs. My character has 15 armour on everything and also has various skills. The problem i'm having is I go outside of Sardelac Sanitarium to do a quest and then 4 - 5 lvl 4 mobs kills me. Now maybe i'm not using the right skills or armour, i'm not sure but it just seems very hard to get to quests. The quests are normal ones to. I mainly only use the fire skills but I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone suggest anything I can try to make the game easier?

1.) watch your radar, a large percentage of character deaths occur because you aggro multiple groups of mobs

2.) if it's one group, pay close attention to the skills they are using against you, if you can see that you're being hit by an AoE effect, move out of the AoE and stop taking the damage from it.

3.) make sure you've put your attributes into the right spots. You say you're focusing on fire damage, how many attribute points have you put into fire?

1: make sure you have some form of healing yourself. dont always assume the hencemen will keep you alive.

2:im sure prolly already knew this but, make sure you do have healing class in your party. plus a full party.

3:try not to aggro too many enimies. if there are a bunch of foes in a group, wait for a lil bit and see if they divide into smaller groups that you can pick off easily. if they dont seperate and you dont think you can take them on, try finding a way around them.

hope this helps you.

Dieing is part of the game. Just mess around with ur spells and fight a combination that heals u when u cast ur spells and yeah don't take too many at once

Why does this feel like a joke-thread so much?

I think that you are playing without a full party... actually soloing at lvl 8 (judging from the post). Although that can be done it's not meant for new players. If that's so... just make a full party (in Old Ascalon the party size is 4)... use henchmen or party with other players. If you are doing a harder quest, ask higher level players to help you. In GW you should always have a full party when doing quests, smaller teams only make quests harder.
Farming is a different story, but that is done (mostly) at lvl 20.

Are you playing alone, or with a full team? It is a mistake new players often make just leaving pre, since pre-searing is essentially solo. Make sure you have a full team of henchmen, or players, and as others have said, make sure you're not aggroing too many multiple mobs.

You have gotten some good suggestions so far, study them and learn from them, then implement them.

Feel free to hook me up in game, I can help and maybe guide you a bit too.

There are 2 armor crafters in Ascalon City.
One crafts 15 armors, the second, Corwen if i remember correctly, crafts 30 armors.
Think of crafting 30 armor, it makes the game easier, and you'll keep it a long time.

Yeah. The better armor is a must. And it's not that expensive.

Possibly/probably invest in a rune of Minor Vigor, if not Major. Runes of Vitae are pretty cheap and they help too. So do Blessed Insignia for your armor. Since you're always enchanted with Fire Attunement, they add +10 AL.

Take Stefan has a henchie learn to send him into the fight ahead of you. Then throw Fireballs at the grawl clustered around him. Better, make him attack the Grawl Ulodytes, so you'll hit the healers too.

And throw every attribute point you can into Fire Magic, or at most go one level below the max you can reach. Period. No exceptions to that rule (unless you're playing another element, which is almost impossible as an early-game Prophecies character).

Fireball is by far the best skill available to you at that point in the game. Rely on it heavily. Getting to Grendich Courthouse and picking up Phoenix isn't terrible either. Immolate is a good skill too.

Never go out without Fire Attunement and Glyph of Lesser Energy.

fire attunement and aura of restoration (heals you when you use a skill) and then rest fire spells. Healing Breeze if you have monk as secondary. Flare is about your best bet, with Fire Attunement running and Aura up, you are constantly healing yourself and you can spam that skill constantly.

Make sure you know that that skill set is only viable in beginner areas. Once you get out of the nrothern shiverpeaks you should be able to make a much better skill bar. Please don't be in the desert spamming flare and healing breeze. However, Fire Attunement is a staple in every fire build and aura of restoration is still sometimes viable.
